B.K.S. Iyengar developed an innovative approach to classical hatha yoga based on the traditional eight limbs of yoga expounded by Patanjali in his classic treatise, The Yoga Sutras, written over 2,500 years ago. What is unique about Iyengar yoga is the emphasis on alignment, sequencing of poses, duration of time in the pose and the use of props. These unique qualities have allowed people of all ages and fitness levels to enjoy the benefits of yoga. Iyengar yoga has been described as meditation in action. Practicing the yoga postures with awareness has an integrating effect and works to harmonize mind and body.

Kim teaches yoga in the Iyengar tradition and holds the Iyengar Yoga Teachers Certification Mark, a sign of excellence, clarity and depth of understanding. She spent years working to receive the certification and must continue her training to maintain the certification mark. She is also a certified Yoga Therapist.
