Q: I have never taken a yoga class before, what should I expect?

A:  In your first yoga session you will be introduced to a progression of yoga postures.  We begin with the standing postures and build from this foundation.  Knowledgeable sequencing safely develops strength, flexibility, stamina, concentration and relaxation. The teacher will provide a clear demonstration and explanation of the poses and give individual correction and adjustment when necessary.

Q: I have an injury or a health condition, is the class appropriate for me?

A: Be sure to discuss any injuries or health problems with your teacher before the class starts.

Q: What should I wear to class?

A: Wear clothes that allow you to move freely. Avoid anything baggy or too long: it’s important you and the yoga teacher can see your knees and feet. Most people wear shorts or leggings and a t-shirt. Yoga is always practiced in bare feet.

Q: Can I eat before yoga classes?

A: Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach, so leave at least three hours after a main meal, or two hours after a snack.

Q: I am menstruating, can I practice or should I skip class?

A: Please let the teacher know if you are menstruating so that she can provide alternate poses when necessary. Some poses, such as inversions, are contraindicated during menstruation so you should be sure to discuss with the teacher prior to class.

Q: When should I arrive for class?

A: The studio is open 15 minutes before class begins. Please arrive 10 minutes before class begins to settle yourself before class.

Q: How do I pay for the classes?

A:   Payment can be cash, check, made on-line by credit/debit card via PayPal in sign-up page, or Venmo to @kbblitch.

Q: Are there facilities to change clothes at the Mind Body Studio?

A: Yes

Q: Where is the Mind Body Studio

A: The Mind Body Studio is located at  517 Southland Drive, Lexington, KY 40503-1828.  Their web-site is www.mindbodystudio.org
