COVID-19 Update and Changes


MESSAGE FROM KIM

Friends, I hope you and your family are in good physical, mental and financial health, and you have found comfort in your yoga practice during this time. The benefits of a regular yoga practice carry into our daily lives and offer so much for our mental and physical well being. 

In the second sutra of the yoga sutras Patanjali defines yoga as; yogah cittavrtti nirodhah. The purpose of yoga is to still the fluctuations of the mind.  When the mental fluctuations cease, a peaceful state follows. Maybe just for a moment at first, but for longer and longer as your practice progresses. Yoga practice is the art of studying the behavior of the mind.

After careful consideration, I don’t feel we can return to in-person classes at this time. With no clear timeline on when normal will resume, or where normal will eventually settle, I have decided to continue with Zoom yoga classes. The coming sessions will be a monthly.  You can participate in the classes live, and/or view the classes later in the week at your convenience.


I look forward to seeing everyone on line soon.

New Class Format - zoom

Iyengar Yoga of Lexington Zoom classes will be in a monthly subscription format. You do not need to be present on the actual day of class but can follow along with the recorded practice at your convenience during the week following.  


Monday 6:00-7:00 pm EST - Introductory

Tuesday 5:30-6:45 pm EST - Established 

Thursday 10:00-11:15 am EST - Gentle


I will send an email with the link and password for the Zoom classes a few days before classes begin. If you are missing your yoga community, the zoom lobby will open 15 minutes before class for meet and greet.  

What about Props?

In the session, we will use a mat, block, strap, and a folding chair. You could use items at home for the block, chair (sturdy, no wheels), and the strap (belt,rope) if you do not want to purchase these items.  


If you would like to purchase new items, I buy props from sunshineyoga.com and have been happy with prices and quality.
